Leslie Townes "Bob" Hope, KBE, KC * SG, KSS (May 29, 1903-- July 27, 2003), was an English-born American comedian, vaudevillian, actor, vocalist, dancer, author, as well as athlete. With a career extending almost 80 years, Hope showed up in over 70 movies and shorts, being composed of a series of "Road" movies co-starring Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour.

Celebrated for his long career executing United Service Organizations (USO) shows to captivate active duty American armed forces workers-- he made 57 trips for the USO in between 1941 and 1991-- Hope was announced a titular pro of the United States Armed Forces in 1997 by act of the united state Congress.

Hope took component in the sporting activities of golf and boxing, and also had a little risk in his hometown baseball group, the Cleveland Indians. He was married to performer Dolores Hope (nee DeFina) for 69 years.
